Valor 1000: Agibank stands out in the ranking

The bank ranked first in operating profitability and ROE, and climbs 10 positions among the largest banks in Brazil

The 2018 edition of the traditional Valor 1000 yearbook ranked Agibank as the best bank in two categories: among the small and medium-sized banks, it has the highest operating profitability, and also the best return on equity (ROE). In the overall ranking of Brazil’s one hundred largest banks by total assets, Agibank rose ten positions compared to the 2017 edition. The rankings are based on the 2017 financial statements disclosed by the companies.

Among small and medium-sized banks, Agibank ranks second among those that grew the most in total deposits, fourth among those that grew the most in credit operations and in seventh place in the lowest operating cost criterion.

The Valor 1000 yearbook is one of the most complete on the companies that operate in Brazil, and a reference for the business world. The study is carried out by the Center for Finance Studies of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV-EAE) and analyzed by Serasa Experian. In addition to the 100 largest banks, 25 sectors of the Brazilian economy are evaluated, from which the 1000 largest companies in the country are listed, as well as the 50 largest by region.
